I seriously wonder what the folks out on the Hopi Mesas must have thought of Star Wars. I’ll leave the commentary at that, because I think the photo here speaks for itself. This piece was produced by the artist Nicolas Galanin. It was part of an exhibit at the Anchorage Museum.
Hehe, interesting contrast of pictures 🙂
I quite agree.
It should have the caption: “Be careful what you wish for.”
What an amazing find and correlation between the two “worlds” – Thnx for sharing this one.
Interesting photo. Not sure what the Hopi Mesa tribe would have thought about Star Wars.
So much of pop culture science fiction comes from our own “alien” cultures. It shows how little we know of the world. I wonder how many Star Trek fans know that Ferengi is a derivative of words such as “farang” from Thailand and “feringhee” from India, both of which mean “foreigner”. Or how many noticed the parallels between Avatar and the story of Pocahantas. Just two examples of many.
Neat! I did not know this stuff.
hehe … nice!!!
I thought so too.
I had a similar hairstyle one Halloween a long time ago.
