Art, Las Vegas, Nevada, Photography, Photos, Street Art, Travel
So, this is the second half of my photo gallery from Las Vegas, again focusing on the murals of the arts district. (Volume I is here.) I want to thank my friend Liliana for helping get a couple of these from my crazy phone to the net.
A few items of note:
This website has a list of a hundred murals in Vegas, including quite a few that i haven’t managed to get in here.
The Erotic Heritage Museum had some interesting pieces. …and by ‘interesting’ I mean…. uh, nevermind.
A number of the pieces included here (and some I never found) appeared to be the result of an event, called the Meeting of Styles in September of 2012.
And a couple of interesting stories:
Not quite Banksy, but interesting!
…as always you may click on a photo to embiggenn it.

An amazing collection of art and fascinating to see this side of the city. We’re sold a very two dimensional view, but obviously creative people abound there. Also I like ‘imbiggen’ and will add it to my list of words immediately..
I’m familiar with the difference between Vegas-for-tourists and Vegas for residents, but honestly, I had no idea this neighborhood existed. If it had been there when I was younger, I would have found excuses to be down there.
Thank you. What a pleasure to see them all! Thank you for the links too. I bookmarked them all. (big smile to you!)
Glad to provide both. 🙂
Fabulous images-love them. Also think embiggen is excellent word-you should copyright it!! 😉
I would copyright it, but I shamelessly stolded it from another person. can’t even remember who, sadly enough. But it is a good word. 🙂

I love good street art. It really takes something ugly and turns it into something beautiful if done well. Nice. Thanks for stopping by my site btw. It’s appreciated.
Absolutely on the stop by. And I share your thoughts on good street art. It’s a new interest, and I don’t know much about it, but damned fun to find. And really cool to contemplate.

Agreed completely Daniel. Keep it up.
Very cool! I was just in Vegas and I wish I had seen these. Thanks for sharing and thank you for stopping by Travel Oops and liking the Bali post! Cheers.

Agree with others re: getting away from the “normal” Vegas and instead, finding gems such as these shots. Nice! Thanks as well, Dan, for liking an earlier post of mine “A Hawk Begins the Celebration”. (Spring has been great re: birds of prey. Have got to get posts up of barred owls, osprey catching fish, heron at sunrise. Too many to review, but I’ll get there soon!)
